  • Red Square: A Noah Wolf Thriller

    David Archer

Paperback (Lone Stone Publishing, Jan. 5, 2018)
Team Cinderella has been sent into Russia to "fake" an assassination of a Russian Deputy Minister, in order to cover up the fact of his defection to the United States. They accomplish the mission, but then are compromised during their own escape and captured. They are quickly disavowed by the US Secretary of State, and sentenced to a public execution in Red Square only a week hence. Noah, at Neil's urging, convinces Allison to let Team Camelot put together a fast rescue mission, but complications require Noah and Marco to break into Lefortovo Prison, where they are also captured. Also disavowed, Noah and the rest seem to be doomed, but Sarah and Neil defy orders to launch a rescue mission of their own. Desperate for help that is refused by E & E, Sarah reaches out to the one person she swore she would never trust: Monique, the former mole who once arranged for her capture and torture at the hands of the Chinese. It's a race against time and seemingly impossible odds, with no way to predict what may happen next.
  • Balance of Power: A Noah Wolf Thriller

    David Archer

Paperback (Lone Stone Publishing, Oct. 21, 2017)
Just back from their honeymoon, Noah and Sarah and the rest of Team Camelot are called up for a new mission, but this one is different from anything they've done before. Noah will be infiltrating a domestic organized crime ring in the South, with Sarah as his wife and Neil as her computer-nerd little brother. Marco will come in a little later, and it will be up to Noah to find a way to recruit him into the organization. Things don't always go quite the way we plan, however. Noah must try to identify all of the leaders of the organization so that he can take them all out at once. The problem is that there is so much infighting within the outfit that it's hard to know who is really in charge of who. Add to this the fact that the CIA mole is now pulling some of Noah's strings, and you've got a prescription for disaster that not even Noah Wolf might be able to turn into a successful mission.

  • The Disappearance of Percy Fawcett: And Other Famous Vanishings

    Jane Clapp, Evan Andrews

eBook (Racehorse Publishing, March 14, 2017)
Significant facts and plausible theories behind ten of the most mystifying disappearing acts in history—from Czar Alexander I to Amelia Earhart. Here are the stories of adventurers, celebrities, political figures, unwitting victims, and visionaries with one thing in common: They vanished into thin air. This collection features ten cases that became the stuff of tantalizing speculation and investigation, inspiring everyone from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to Ian Fleming to Stephen King. In 1925, Percy Fawcett ventured into the Amazon jungles searching for the mythical Lost City of Z and never re-emerged. Aviator Amelia Earhart embarked on her historic flight around the world in 1937 but didn’t return. Other cases are less famous but just as enthralling: New York’s Judge Crater who stepped into a taxi and was never seen again; travel writer Richard Halliburton, known for his headline-making stunts—the one in 1939 made him a legend; and Lionel Crabb, the British frogman whose fate became a Cold War mystery. Here too are the unsolved vanishings of Roger Tichborne, heir to a fortune and cause célèbre of Victorian England; Philadelphia toddler Charley Ross who, in 1870, was the first kidnap victim to receive nationwide attention; activist and Columbia University professor, Jesús de Galindez; writer Ambrose Bierce; and Czar Alexander the First, shadowed to this day by rumors of a faked death. This thoroughly researched book covers a century of historical puzzlers. Some are investigated to this day, some are all but forgotten—yet all are real-life mysteries still waiting to be solved.
  • Ocean Surprises

Connie Cutcher Weeks, Debbie Reese Potts

Paperback (Seahorse Publishing, March 15, 2009)
Ocean Surprises uses the experiences of the ocean's inhabitants during a raging storm as a metaphor for the human spirit's ability to overcome adversity. A grandfather seahorse calms the fears of his grandson by pointing to sea shells successfully weathering the storm and explaining how courage allows spirits to grow stronger and fear to diminish in order to outlast personal storms. What others are saying about Ocean Surprises "As a mother, I can't fathom the pain experienced by these two women, as they watched their children endure such immense physical and mental hardship," says First Lady of Texas Anita Perry. "Through Debbie's simple prose and Connie's striking illustrations, 'Ocean Surprises' reminds us of the timeless lesson that through hardship, we gain strength." "Ocean Surprises is an effortless and elegant story of the cycle of adversity and resilience. I read it to my children to help them to understand what Daddy does at work. Like all great children's books, its message is applicable to young and old." -Adam Borah, psychiatrist with extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder "Ocean Surprises is a delightfully touching book that addresses the challenges which accompany unexpected life changes. It very gently and creatively expresses the fear and confusion that a child may feel when faced with difficult circumstances. • Peking to Paris: Life and Love on a Short Drive Around Half the World

    Dina Bennett

eBook (Skyhorse Publishing, May 1, 2013)
A Publishers Weekly Top-10 Travel Book: A couple embarks on an auto race, and whether it’s the antique car or the marriage, something’s bound to break down… Dina Bennett nicknamed her restored 1940 Cadillac LaSalle “Roxanne.” In the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge, it was known as Car 84, one of 125 classic cars competing in a breathtaking antique auto race. And so Dina embarked from China’s Great Wall with, at the very least, enthusiasm and a roomy front seat. It doesn’t matter that she’s the least likely navigator on any continent, or that she’s a daydreamer prone to carsickness, or that inside she’s riddled with self-doubt. Because behind the wheel is Bernard, her mechanically inclined, thrill-seeking perfectionist of a husband. Besides, the race is only eight thousand miles. What could possibly go wrong? As Dina and Bernard nurse Roxanne across the Gobi, Siberia, and the Baltic states and south to Paris, Dina wrestles with nuts and bolts, dodges rock-throwing Mongolians, endures a sandstorm facial, and locks horns with Russians seemingly left over from Stalin’s Intourist era. Yet never once does Dina abandon the absurd hope that she can turn herself into a person of courage and patience. Funny, self-deprecating, and marred by only a few acts of great fortitude, Peking to Paris is first and foremost a voyage of renewal. It’s for every woman who’s ever doubted herself, and for any man who wanted to join her on that road to re-discovery, albeit off the beaten tourist path. All in all “a fun ride, worth the trip” (Kirkus Reviews).
  • Paradise Lost

    John Milton

eBook (Seahorse Publishing, July 8, 2013)

And yet, in putting a charismatic Satan and naked Adam and Eve at the centre of this story, he also created an intensely human tragedy on the Fall of Man. Written when Milton was in his fifties—blind, bitterly disappointed by the Restoration and briefly in danger of execution—Paradise Lost's apparent ambivalence towards authority has led to intense debate about whether it manages to 'justify the ways of God to men', or exposes the cruelty of Christianity.Seahorse Classics brings great works of literature to life in digital format, upholding the highest standards in e-book production and celebrating reading in all its forms.
